Malamang hinde mo cya napapalo ng flat kasi sabi western grip ka so more on spin yun. Different rackets have different sweetspots.

pag full western ka you will rarely hear the *BOOM that you want. pag semi western meron ganun, lalo na pag flat tira mo. pag full western, medyo manipis ang contact sa bola, less of you wanting to crush the ball forward. pag sinabi mo give-away, you mean short, high-bouncing-mid court balls?

Greetings Babolat:
Si Nadal, HALIMAW yun!
I'm no expert but I derive my assessment from empirical evidence. There's what they call your Power Zone. Different players have different power zones. It maybe below your waistline, above your waistline, while other have a much higher zone, slightly below shoulder level. This is the point of contact in which they can get the most power in most of their shots. Observe the pros and you'll notice that everyone has a different zone.
One can only guess since one has not seen you play. So maybe you're not hitting the ball in your power zone. A full backswing, full followthrough, full weight transfer, full body rotation won't matter if this is the case. Again I said maybe.

Another tips hope this help.. Kung give away na yung bola, try to change your grip na kaya mong paluin ng flat. Hinde lahat ng tira ay puro western. Nag va vary yan sa dating at position ng bola... Soon you will be able to decide what type of grip you are using.. Ako pag give away na yung bola tapos malapit sa net, I use western grip to rip the ball para mas malakas yung spin and with angle para winners agad...

get into the ball early para ma execute ang stroke sa comfort zone atleast above the net ang height ng bola, start the backswing about waist high, the racket must be perpendecular to the ground before contact and finish the stroke just below the shoulder with the racket parallel to the ground to get that extra spin.

go to fuzzyyellowballs.com may topic about the topspin forehand. but let me try to explain it. the height of the racket face must be lower than the ball. the ideal height when you strike the ball must be the top of the net. the racket face must be vertical as much as possible until you hit that ball. you have to hit the ball in front of you in open stance so you can actually see the back of the ball. when following through use a windshield wiper type swing and make sure you racket hand taps your opposite shoulder. so if you were a righty you would tap the left shoulder on your follow through. the best way to practice this is to use the foam balls and practice it with a hitting partner from the service line. this will take a little time but you'll notice it before you know it. hope this helps.

Full western backhand din ako just in case you are wondering. Next time, subukan niyo 'to. Sa backswing, siguraduhin na ang racket head ay same level ng point of contact. Wala kang babaguhin sa swing. Pareho pa rin. Ang pagkakaiba lang ay yung backswing. Ang mangyayari dito, ma-iiba yung swing path mo.

Generally speaking, a racket’s sweetspot can be found about 6 inches from the tip. One way to see where you’re hitting the ball is to examine the wear pattern of your strings. Usually, the area where you hit the ball most will show the most wear. If the wear is roughly centered around 6 inches from the tip, safe to say you're right around hitting the sweetspot, at least for the most part.

My opinion, if you hear the sweet sound of a "ping", you have it the sweet spot of your racquet. Please correct me if I am wrong guys.

nice boss! yung yellow "himulmuls" naka-scattered all over the full string bed hehehe. does it mean i sometimes hit the ball outside the sweet spot?

Just in case na sweetspot lang hanap nyo. Hold the racket perpendicular to the ground. Drop the ball on different parts your string bed from near the throat to the upper hoop, kung saan pinkamataas ang talbog, yun ang sweet spot ng racket mo. Kahit ano pa ang gamit mo na grip mapa western or eastern, it's always a good practice to swing THROUGH the ball to generate a heavier more penetrating shot(pati na rin yung boom na hinahanap nyo) Pag masyadong manipis yun yung pfft swwish lang ang tunog.
