hello po can anyone tell me if meron bang SHELL Court tourney organized by PTO?
great idea lang cguro kung meron tapos isched natin before sa grass tourney parang ala roland garros:) kasi TORO HILLS CHAMPIONSHIP = AUSTRALIAN OPEN (halos ka-sched din) then Stonecrest naman ala wimbledon (medjo malapit na din sa sked ng wimby) so why not a shell kort tyourney na ala french open db? samahan na din ng isa pang hardkort uli para ala USopen naman heheheh

PTO wala pa yung mga team tennis lang hehe at celebrations, pero dont worry dami nag seset ng tourney diyan na mga members dito sa forums sabi nga ni darkwing baka sa ndc pwede hehe accessible pa hehe

In my opinion magandang idea ito. Since maraming members dito sa PTO ang talagang magaling maglaro dapat talaga merong MAJOR TOURNAMENTS (parang Grand Slam).

Sa ilang araw na pagbabasa ko ng mga posts dito at siyempre mga matatalino at kakaibang ideas ng members dito, naniniwala akong posible itong mangyari. Medyo napansin ko rin kasi na kapag may naopen ng tournament (malaki man o maliit) minsan yung iba rin ay nauubusan ng slot lalo na kung open to all ang tournament or event.

Siyempre iba rin yung tournament na exclusive sa kani-kanilang tennis club, e paano kung hindi ka member ng kahit anong tennis club at naubusan ka ng slot sa tournament na sasalihan mo, so anong gagawin?

At least kung may MAJOR TOURNAMENT, marami ang makakasali at ang nakakatuwa labo labo na ito (i mean kahit anong NTRP rating mo or rank mo, laban lang ng laban). At kung may records ng NTRP rating at ranking, at the end of the day pwedeng ito na rin ang maging basehan. Since MAJOR TOURNAMENT ito, pwedeng ito na rin ang maging EB.

At posible rin maglaban laban ang mga tennis club ala DAVIS CUP and/or FED CUP. Masaya rin ito.

Sa magoorganize ng event, pwedeng magsama-sama ang event coordinators ng mga tennis clubs para pagtulungan ang mga aayusin lalo na sa paghahanap ng mga sponsors.

Wala lang, it's just a thought lang, medyo nakakaexcite lang.

hahaha ni isang tournament ng PTO eh hindi pa ako nakasali dahil hindi naman ako kilala dito. maganda yung open tournament na sinasabi ni counterpuncher para sa mga katulad naming mahihina sa tennis. experience din yun

Marami tournament dito yun nga paunahan ng registration depende sa level ng skill mo and/or NTRP rating or whatsoever qualifications. Kaya kung gusto mong sumali pwede naman kasi open naman yung tournament to all e.

Kung di ka pa nila kilala, madaling magawan ng paraan yan... Kasi yung iba naman nakikipaglaro sa lahat ng mga nandito.

Yung major tournament is to counterpart the small ones para gawing BIG TIME or bongga ang event. Who knows baka sa ganung paraan ay magboom lalo ang tennis dito sa atin...

If we really want a big tournament, kailangan din natin ng commitment sa mga players..unfortunately minsan di ganun ang nangyayari. Back out last minute dito, Back out last minute doon. I don't blame them, kc di naman ito ang bread and butter nila. unlike sa pro tourneys with pro players.

if you're an organizer and you're investing your own money and effort to the event minsan nakakatakot. You really have to prepare - long preparation, and prepare your pocket to win or lose, parang tennis match lang din. Pero despite of all the hesitations, nangingibabaw pa rin ang passion for tennis and the hope for a bigger TENNIS in the Philippines.

But bigger tournaments for PTO? I'm positive it can be done.

By the way, so far with humble efforts of PTO members, we also have "major" tournaments, Toro Championships "Aussie Open", then for May 2012, we have the "French Open" organized by ATC, then we'll have one coming up as "Wimbledon" c/o JC and a "US Open"- TBA.        

Even if we have "major" tournaments, I would like to encourage those groups(s) or individuals who want to organize tennis tournaments, more tournaments means more awareness, more participants and will encourage more people to learn tennis.

Oh man! This is such a great idea! Aside from the PTO Tennis Circuit recently, I've just had my first PTO Tournament ever thanks to the efforts of the Thunders Team. I really enjoyed it. It was amazing meeting lots of new people who plays Tennis and share the same passion and enjoyment as I do.  (I've literally never seen such a Tennis crowd ever since I've started playing. Hehehe.)

More importantly, I've seen how the Thunders team made the necessary preparations and how their team coordinated the entire event. It is indeed true that organizing such events is no walk in the park and it requires a lot of effort and participation from everyone: from building funds, talking to sponsors, getting everyone's commitments and fixing event issues and misunderstandings.

I also believe that we can pull this off maybe slowly at first and see where everything goes from there. It's awesome that this Forum has a lot of brilliant people of different varieties and personalities and with everyone's effort, this is definite possibility.
