Hi PTO,
I just wanted to share my racket dissapointment and surprises.
Hope you share your experience too.

My dissapointment:

Dunlop Biomimetic 200-
I bought this racket because i want an i.prestige midplus spec but is softer to the arms.
Strung it with a Black knight Soft Poly 17 @ 55lbs.
Played it one time, I was so disappointed with how it played it that i sold it here at PTO the next day.
It feels somehow very heavy. It seems that i don't have a connection with the ball with my forehand. My backhand is always late. At serves, it's hard for me to get any power.
I can blame my game for those this disappointment but it's just that there are rackets that i clicked to the first time i used them. ex. Prostaff tour 90, K90, Prostaff 6.0 95 and the racket below.

My biggest surprises:
Microgel Prestige mid- "The best racket i played with my whole life"

Played it today for the first time. strung with Luxilon Big Banger TiMO 18g.
I know it will play great. It was just that i never expected it to play this great the first time i used it. The spin production i got is unreal for a 18x20 string pattern and a 89.5 sq inch head. Maybe the string has to with it too. It was the first time for a long time that i am confident to hit my forehand on any area inside the court even on low and high balls. It feels very arm friendly too.

Babolat Puredrive Std both cortex and non-cortex.
Just surprised that it clicked with my game the first time i used it. Even though i don't like the specs.
It also plays very soft for a stiff racket.

Not all rackets have the same play-ability you cannot compare the dunlop to head prestige. When novak change his racket from wilson to head, hea has this little downside in playing but then after he feels the new racket, he won 3 GS title on the same year.

Hehe yup mejo high-powered at magaan yung lite gt.

Played lang one time tapus benta agad.hehe Grin

Dunlop mfil 300 na-try ko din. Yun pinabili ko kasi almost same spec sya sa Puredrive.
Very dissapointed din sa result, binenta the next day.hehe Grin

Yup tama si Sir Lito, kahit same specs kung magka-iba ng brand ay d sya maglalaro ng pareho. Siguro dahil sa technology or composition nung racket.

About Djokovic's frame, I think it's not Djokovic who adjusted to Head's frame.
I think it's Head that made a racket with  specs that Djokovic wants or they tried to copy the specs and playing characteristic of his old Wilson frame.

OK. Sabagay all tennis stars have their own specs of rackets. Si Roddick lang ata ang alam ko na gumamit ng racket na from the shelves. yung mismong binebenta sa market.

Disappointments...

The Donnay X-series

Didn't quite play the way I expected. Perhaps extra-thin beams are just not for me.

Surprises...

The Donnay Formula 100

Played better than I expected. I liked it so much, I switched to it...  Well, at least for now  Cheesy  I'll be playtesting a couple of rackets (see my new posted topic on the "Black Racquet"), so we'll see if this infatuation with the Donnay Formula 100, which also happens to be black, will last.

@raketwiz

yup, even the Donnay X-Yellow 99 which is the lightest racket on the x-series have also extra-thin beam. Which is very weird for a light racket.

Surprise for me was my old Prince CTS Synergy DB26 OS. I played with several OS babolats and got tennis elbow. Using the heavier racket allowed me to return strong serves better, and not as bad on the elbow. Grin

Dissapointment : Biomimetic 500 Lite (kahit gamit ko to dito)

Masiyadong light parang wala akong hinahawakan.
Kelangan mo mag produce ng power para malakas ang palo , hindi siya nag proproduce ng power e..

Surprises : Prince Force Ti (Dati)

Masgusto ko to kaysa sa ngayon
Better power better control

share ko din,
dissapointments:

Head Flexpoint Radical MP and Head Youtek Speed MP 18x20

Feeling ko pareho lang sila, lalong pumangit palo ko kaya balik na lang ako sa Head Liquidmetal Radical MP Grin

I want to try kasi a new racquet with  slightly more power (I thought mas may power sila)  and bigger frame than my LM radical kaya I tried those two.

I added lead tapes na lang sa LM radical ko, total of 12grams (6g +6g at 9 and 3 o'clock), medyo sumobra yata or nag-iba balance, sumakit yung taba ko ay yung biceps ko pala nabigla yata.

I generate my own power and hence, I always look forward to those control-type rackets.

Disappointments: Babolat APD and GT Models.

(Biggest) Surprise: Dunlop Aerogel 4D 200. Suited my game very well, 'perfect'.
