"From 2012, the Rules of Tennis will state that no 10 & Under age group competition can take place using a standard, yellow ball; instead a slower red, orange, or green ball must be used"
Here's the link to the manual: http://www.tennisplayandstay.com/downloads/Tennis10sManualENG.pdf

If this is mandatory, I hope Philippine Tennis is prepared.

Ask Philta, the most incompetent national tennis association anywhere you can imagine.

It is only four months to go, and no information, messages, action, reaction, initiative.

They just have a terrible facebook page to communicate. Their web page is not updated since March 2009. And hundreds or thousands of players are paying membership fees, isn't it, and a lot of tax money/government money is given to them. What are they doing there?

Kick them out, all of them.

slp, come on, dont be defensive and ignorant

To start up and maintain a web page today cost PEANUTS. Start up cost maybe P 2000. Maintenace P5000 per year. THe updates easy to do , any admin at Philta can do it, not much more complicated than sending email or update your facebook, that millions of schoolkids do regularly.

Probably what happended is they were CHEATED by some consultants who did the work for them. They chose an expensive service provider, then a complicated software platform, only consultants could do the maintenance. Maintenace fee maybe P100.000 per month.

As the web page has been down for more than 2 years, it is not the fault of present Philta management. It was done by some previous Philta management, ie chosen that particular it consultant company, accepting their bad terms and conditions (and most probably some in Philta either partly owned that company or otherwise got a cut from the deal.)

But present Philta managment is totally responsible for not closing down the previous one, that is a disgrace ( a national sport organisation webpage not updated for years, with wrldwide readers), and for not starting up a new one (that can be done extremely cheap).

Philta today actually have a facebook page, that is actually FREE, but it is poorly maintained a have mostly crap, but it linked to recent Olivarez tournament, which is good. And they have another, i think multiply page, that is alsmost free also. Same with facebook, mostly crap there, a lot of links to newspaper reports about old matches with venu williams etc. But when i checked today, it actually had a ranking list (very good format) and a tournament calendaer. Also a tournament report from the recent age group event in Cagayan de Oro.

here it is
http://www.tennisdito.com/about/

But why this name, tennis dito??

Anyway, NEVER accept any organisations excuse for not having a good web page on money. It is not a question of money, because to have a webpage 2009 and forward is almost free, practically no cost.
What is the problem is a willingness to do something well. a little bit initiative and coordination, love for tennis.
