My thoughts as a Coach

I have been a coach for a long time and I can say that I have been very blessed that so many players came my way. I have coached both local and foreign players in the Philippines and abroad and to tell you frankly the most rewarding part of my job is not just to see them win tournaments, but the everlasting bond that we share with each other. Through winning and loosing, good and bad times we learn from each other and our relationship solidifies even more. I love the excitement of developing players from scratch and making them somebody in the future. The joy I see in my players faces when they win their first important match and the determination to train harder if they failed is something that I will cherish for the rest of my coaching life. The hardest part of my job is to motivate players when they feel down and discourage especially when you are away from home for such a long time. You can feel their pain inside growing and the homesickness that is always lingering in their minds. You know that anytime they can just quit and give up without thinking rationally about the consequences of their actions. At times I feel the same way and I just want to ask myself why am I doing this again? It is so hard to motivate someone whose mind is so far away and their emotions are getting the best of them. But in my years of coaching so many players you have to keep motivating them even to a point that you fight just to keep them focused in their goals and objective. You have to play the villain at times and you have to enforced strength and discipline even to a point that your player starts hating you for doing it.  When I am alone in my room at the end of the day I am just so exhausted mentally and physically because of the pressure and the stress of the day and it is even harder when you are together with your player in one room. No breathing space for the both of you, so my alternative is the bathroom for a few hours of my time alone reading something or just gathering my thoughts. These experiences are all part of my coaching life and through the years I have learned to be more patient and understanding. I have seen players snap out of their negativity and turn it around into positive performance.  This is the reward you have been waiting for and I am so privilege to have the opportunity to live an extra ordinary and exciting life in the tennis world. To coach and guide your players in achieving their dreams and goals comes with a hefty price and I am not talking about the money, but the pains and hard work a coach has to endure to make his player the best of the field. I have seen this countless of times to a lot of coaches who gave everything to their players and ended up heart broken and with nothing to show for. In my experience the key to success is having passion in your goals, in your players and the people who support and believe in you. Tennis is a long term commitment and results do not come overnight. But results do come to those who work hard and are patient in their improvements. As a coach in the Philippines I will never get rich beyond my wildest dreams but for me success in life comes in different forms.  I can already say that I am very successful in what I do because of all the players that came my way and the players I'm currently training. They all have given me a purpose in life and I will not stop helping players until the end of my time. This is what coaching is all about, not just the glory but also the pain that you have to endure for giving your heart out for others. By for now and see you all in Wimbledon. God bless to all

Yours truly,
Coach Manny Tecson

Nice!

Although it would be easier for the readers if it was cut into paragraphs.
