Grabe ang draw. Parang ranking at non ranking. All good players on one side and his son and his friends' children on the other. Philta should investigate the tournament director. Nakakahiya.
Smart/Head should be careful with this not so smart tournament director. There are better options than this feeling smart asshole

my kid (16under) lost his 2nd rd match w/ a match point (6-4,5-4) on him. sayang! he lost 6-4,6-7,8-10 he also lost his 18under match the other day with a set and a 4-2 lead at 2nd set. then had his strings broke. now, i would say that the tension of strings installed on his other racket played the difference. his shots were never the same.
he's only 14, and i hope it'll make him a better player soon..

Its 1 pm, and a 10 am match have not yet been declared as default, while a 2 pm match was defualted. Only in this tournament.
The Del Rosario kid cried upon learning that he was already defaulted, his father complained that its only 1 pm and the match is scheduled at 2 pm, but the director said he called them 9 am but they were not there. Do not relly on schedule, you must consult with HIM according to HIM.
The 10 am of Erica Manduriao was not played until past 4 pm because her opponent was not defaulted because no available court daw. Or the opponent was not available, and close to HIM.
To whom should you complain?

Siguro, philta will listen to complaints since they are the leaders of the group. Ito na ata ung tournament na pinakamagulo scheduling. Sana mabago. Laki pa naman ng mga sponsors.

My daughter is scheduled to play 18U semis at 10 am today. I hope it is atleast played in the morning.
Mixing up the schedule based on experience is intentional to favor his players. I remember before, my daughter's schedule was 8 am, we had early breakast, arrive around 7, then waited. It was almost lunch, so I inquired if it will still be played in the am. He said no, late in the pm daw because no available court. We had lunch, ten minutes later my daughter was called to play. With full stomach, she trailed 0-8 before she was able to recover to win 10-8.
Philta knows about this, in fact, Davao had a candidate to challenge him in the rvp election, and since he does not have a chance of winning against this candidate, Philta divided the region to A and B. Thats how powerful this guy is.
I just hope the new president notices the problem.
This guy is not welcome in any court in Davao except for 1(Eco4). Thats how much he is disliked in our place.

Head tournament used to be played at RMTC before. According to former PSC chair, Butch Ramirez, this guy never paid for the tennis court rental, philta did.
2010 edition was suppose to be played at RMTC but he was not allowed, luckily Smart sponsored the tournament and agreed to let the tournament to be played at Meralco.

Hello Head.. Hello Smart... Your "Crown Jewel" of your 13 leg Head/Smart tour on going at Meralco is an unmitigated fisaco and disaster.
16+ matches scheduled at 10am on six courts. A like number was scheduled for 9am thus creating a huge backlog of matches and many disgruntled players and family members waiting with no idea of when they would be called.
Defaults handed out prior to a players scheduled time. Players schedules being changed without notifying players. Matches scheduled for later in the day taking courts that become available although 9 and 10am matches have not yet been played leaving 9am and 10am players wondering why and forcing them to wait even longer. Or worse, if one is suddenly called prior to their scheduled time and they dont suddenly appear... default!
We are a first year entry level family (8yr old daughter) and with no axe to grind with anyone but having to wait for long periods we were able to observe and we witnessed a lot of the above utter non-sense thru the whole tournament up to and including yesterday's mess..
Is this par for the course? Sadly it might be so. So I'm putting in my 2 cents.. This guy has got to go..
Calling HEAD and SMART... Hello?.. Helloooo?? Somebody WAKE THEM UP. (I've come to the opinion that there will be no answer at Philta... heh heh)

Everything can be negotiated. Win without lifting a racket. Championship for sale.

Maybe the major sponsors can do something about this. After all it's the name of their company that's plastered all over the place.
