In eight years of existence, the Manila Southwoods Tennis Academy has produced a long line of champions in local and international tournaments.

These players have left their marks in big tournaments like the Davis Cup, SEA Games, World Super Juniors,  and many more.

Topping the list of players that the Academy trained and  developed under the tutelage of former World Group Davis Cup captain  Manny Tecson are Joseph Victorino,  Rolando Ruel, Adelo Abadia,  Alex Lazaro,  Von Ruelan,  Miguel  Narvaez,  Pablo Olivarez, Joshua Tan Ho, among others.

Last year, Miguel Narvaez, a tennis scholar of the Academy, won the ITF Juniors singles and doubles events   here in Manila,  propelling his World Junior Ranking in the top 200.

In his recent trip to Australia and New Zealand,  Tecson and his team competed against the best junior players  in the world and earned valuable ITF world ranking points.

The team got  noticed by noted coach  Tarik Benhabiles of France, the  former mentor of world no. 4 Andy Rodick and was high  praises with the Southwoods team due to their results, discipline and  training system.

During the circuit, Manny and Benhabiles  talked about ideas and programs which resulted in an exchange program  where the Academy players can train with Tarik if they have  competition in the United States in particular before the Orange Bowl in Florida.

On the other hand, Manny will handle the training of his players if they are in the Philippines.

The  Academy has been providing year round and world-class tennis training  programs for all types of players both adults and juniors for the past  eight years.

These programs are designed for beginners, intermediate,  advance, part-time competitive and full-time competitive players.

Hi Pedro!  Sa Southwoods ang exit from SLEX.  Sa loob mismo ng Southwoods.  Mga 2 exits yata from Alabang/Festival exit.

Yes. It's open.  The coach there is Manny Tecson, ex-RP Davis cup player.  Notable graduate is Joseph Victorino (currently in Japan) although based on what I heard, selected few lang yung under supervision ni Manny Tecson.

LVL307, correction pls. Manny Tecson never been a davis cupper, he's not even a top player. He just went to US in a scholarship and cameback coaching in Philippines. He used to coach  Phil. Davis Cup team(Barrientos,So,Palahang,Pila) that reached World Group Qualifying in 1991. Joseph Victorino is back in Philippine now.

Manny is an excellent coach. He is full of passion and ideas. His academy accepts anyone except for his elite group(Olivarez, Tan Ho, Basco etc...) I think the elite trains at Makati Sports Club during week days. Another option is at Subic Bay tennis club under Beeyong Sison. I heard his good. Any feedbacks?

Re Beeyong Sison, yes, heard some good things about him.  Some of his wards include:  Anja Peter, PJ Tierro, Reggie Santiago, etc.  Just be prepared to travel to Subic.

Yes, Beeyong and Manny are the only qualified and knowledegeable coaches in the Philippines today. Hope they can produce more good players that can compete internationally.

sa ngayon wala pa talagang na-poproduce na talent si beeyong since bago pa lang ang tennis academy nya. hopefully in the near future he'll be able to.

I've heard stuff from Tecson and Sison. Any feedback how Butch Bacani's training is? Is he comparable or better to Tecson and Sison? Anybody's kid who went there?

No problem, controlled naman nila ang market sa pilipinas kahit low quality ang product nila. pagnaglaro ako dyan gamit local balls talaga iba ang bounce compared sa bola dito sa japan.
