Patrombon beat Hendrawan 6-0;6-2 and will have a tough first round main draw match against Thai Kirati Siributong, a member of the Thai National Team.

In doubles Jeson will team up with Siriluethaiwattana (Thai) and will go up against Suwandi/Nugroho of Indonesia.

Jeson won his first match in main draw vs the thai player 6-2, 7-5. The opponent is ranked around 900 on the main tour. Jeson is presently ranked 1522. So this is good results.
Next round vs a japanese presently ranked around 800 (a couple of years ago around 500). If he win that match it is a big step forward. (Still I miss him playing French open juniors.)

Jeson Patrombon advances past German in Wimbledon Jrs. 1st round
26-Jun-11, 11:26 PM | Sid Manalo, InterAksyon.com
LONDON

The Philippines' Jeson Patrombon recovered from a first-set loss to beat Julian Lenz of Germany, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, in the junior boys' singles tournament of Wimbledon at the All-England Club.

The 18-year old Patrombon, ranked 15th in the world junior rankings, used his speed and what his coach Manny Tecson labeled as a defensive game to defeat the world No. 42 German, who towered at six-foot-three and explosive with his serves and forehand.

"It was a fight to the finish for Jeson," said Tecson. "He beat a very tough player."

The German showed who's boss in the first set by utilizing his height to the hilt and making the Filipino look bad with his service returns.

Lenz also went 4-2 in the second set, but Patrombon suddenly came alive and broke the German in the seventh—which turned out to be what he needed to break his rival's back.

"Jeson came alive after that and he was challenging the big forehand of his opponent which caught the German by surprise and started to miss a lot of balls," said Tecson. "I kept on encouraging him to keep putting the pressure and on the ninth game, he broke the German for the second time and I can feel the German is starting to choke."

Ahead 5-4, Patrombon held serve after five deuces in the 10th game to even the score at one set apiece.

Lenz appeared to have recovered in the third set when he was close to holding his serve at love, but Petrombon showed more energy and the German started loosing his cool to yield the game.

Patrombon didn't drop a serve after that and went on to snatch the victory.

"After the match I brought Jeson immediately to the trainer because he was complaining about his right foot which is a little swollen due to the running shot he did on the forehand side at match point," said Tecson.

Patrombon failed to get past the first round last year, losing to American Mitchell Frank of the United States, 1-6, 5-7.
