If there is pain, it probably is. The only question now is what degree of injury you have.

kadalasan shoulder injuries ay tama sa "rotator cuff". when you hurt it pretty bad it doesnt go away. kapag rightie at nag serve, natural arc (from the top) is follow though towards left (just missing your left knee), minsan nga tinatamaan alulod, aruuy!!!
so sometimes you over reach or the ball goes towards the right & hahabulin mo pa rin ng palo, ayun, lalagatok.
how to determine RC injury:
lie on your back, extend your shoulder & elbow flat on the floor (right angle, body & shoulder/elbow) with the hand pointing the roof.. move the elbow/hand touching the floor the floor, up & down. now if it hurts, dang you had your RC injured. pahinga mo, kasi pati mga muscles niya (used to pull & push), na overstretch din.

I agree with the rock. Sounds like one of the rotator cuff muscles was strained. Better rest muna. You don't want to end up with a torn rotator cuff. Maybe you should reconsider your service motion also to make sure this doesn't recur. Exercising this group of muscles will also help. I can post a copy of tennis-specific rotator cuff exercises if you need it.

Sounds like you aggravated the original injury. Rest mo kasi dapat and a couple of days is not enough. If I were you, patingin mo na sa doctor yan. Baka hindi lang strain yan. You really have to take care of this bago lumala.
What racket and strings are you using?

i use prince O3 Hybrid Lite... fit nman ung tension ng racquet q sa strings q.... i don't know anything wrong with the racquet, but i think i got it dun sa follow through q...i sometimes use reversed follow through s forehand... especially pag low or high balls un kadalasan follow through q....i don't know if hitting hard is also a factor when talking about shoulder injury, kc un ung last kong gnwa ago nag occur ung pain....i already ask m mom to let experts examine it...kaso sa wednesday pa kmi punta ng doctor....

Hopefully mild strain lang ang diagnosis. Konting ice compress tapos wala munang tennis for a couple of weeks para mag-heal ng maige yung injury.
O3 Hybrid Lite..... Lightweight, around 275g; swingweight, around 300; balance, around 5pt head heavy. Poly ba kamo ang strings mo at what tension? What about the grip, tama ba ang size?
I can't say if the racket and strings contributed to the injury, although if you're a hard hitter using poly, I would probably not recommend this racket for you.
Anyhoo, I hope everything works out for you. Good luck

What I’m saying is that if you’re a hard hitter and you prefer using poly, this is not the racket for you.

Take a rest and let it heal first. Mahirap ang merong injury di ka mag e enjoy sa laro. Saka yung mental part na lagi mong ini isip yung injury mo during the game. Get well soon!

Take it easy at first. Try warm up gradually and don't forget to stretch.

Guys
Take care. Better practice your second serve and mix with your first serve, try to condition your muscles als. It is not safe to hit many first serves in succession especially with a relatively new racquet and string set up.

I think you should now adjust your serves to reduce the tension in the rotator cuffs. Serves that over stretches the rotator cuffs - especially the top spin serve - would cause this type of injury. I would suggest that you determine which part of the serve causes the strain. I got mine from over stretching my arm when hitting the ball and probably the lack of warm-up exercises for the shoulders. I overreach for maximum torque in making the top spin serves. When I realized this, I adjusted my serve from how to toss the ball to how i end my serve. Hope this helps.

For those experiencing pain in general besides resting your injured part its also advisable to take anti-inflammatory meds to stop the cycle of continuous release of inlammation causing chemicals from w/ in!
