In doubles, Mendoza and partner beat Saville/Swaysland in straight sets. Saville/Swaysland were doubles champion last week in Malaysia beating Patrombon/Grinter.  Saville is also an Australian Open singles finalist.

Jeson was not at his best today, daming errors buti na lang medyo nainjure yung kalaban.  He needs to tighten up his game if he wants to beat his next oponent - Nick Kyrgios who is only 15... but has the biggest game among the juniors cometing in this tournament.

Di namin inabot game ni Jeson kanina, pero good news naman at nanalo. Nalimutan naming itanong score. Malakas din yung makakalaban nya bukas, si Whittington, 16yrs old from Australia.

Si Whittington na naman ang kalaban nya. He lost to him just last week. Sana makabawi ngayon.

Sorry for the wrong info, si Krstin of Serbia pala yung kalaban nya today sa semis, si Saville naman ng U.S. kalaban ni Whittington.

Jeson displayed tremendous character and fighting heart to beat Serbia's Pedja Krstin 4-6;6-3;7-6.  He is cramping bad in the third set and I hope he recovers tomorrow and play another good match against Andrew Wittington who breezed past Australian Open Finalist Luke Saville 6-2;6-3.

Jeson played tired tennis, he was not able to play his game, he was rushing things too much, its as if he does not have the energy to engaged his oponent in long rallies. It did'nt help that his oponent really played well, especially in the 1st set. Still 3 finals in a row is a very big achievement. Also, after this tournament he has now won 14 out of 15 3 set matches dating back to September last year... at stat even the pros would be envious of.

Still I cannot help feel that today was a wasted opportunity. Daming nanood halos mapuno ang Rizal, karimihan ng pumunta first time siyang mapapanood, televised pa. This finals could have been a big coming out party for him, had he won people will talk about him... baka makakuha pa siya ng additional sponsors. Although, dapat matuwa na rin tayo "finalist" in Mistsubishi is the best placing of a Filipino boy in history of this tournament.

Also, I think this is a signal to Philta to develop and focus on our homegrown talents. Jeson's success it a testament that given the proper support and opportunity we can be at par with the best in the world.

sayang! bday pa naman niya ngayon. napansin namin, masyado niya target ung mga linya. also, sabog ung forehand niya. madalas -away! at ung mga drop shots, kundi error, naaabutan pa ng ausi. haba ng mga legs.

anyway, it's a good tourney for jeson. good luck sa mga upcoming tourneys. congrats!

Jeson's ranking slipped a little from 9 to 10.  Whittington is now ranked No. 8 entering the Top 10 for the first time by virtue of his Mitsubishi win. Had Jesson won he would have been ranked No. 7.
