Several ITF Junior tournaments in Asia is lined-up for the month of March and our Junior players will be busy trying to rack up some points. Jesson is top seed in 3 ITF Grade 1 Tournmanents including the Mitsubishi Juniors Championship scheduled in the 4th week of March while the rest will be competing in lower grade tournaments.

First up on Monday is a G4 tournament in Malaysia wherein Clarice Patrimonio and Tamitha Nguyen are in the Main draw proper.

I guess she or her handlers thinks that winning a G4 tournmanent is easier than winning 2 rounds in a G1 tournament. Also, because she did'nt make the cut in the maindraw proper and there are some quality oposition in the qualifying so naniniguado lang siguro. I'm sure she wants some match wins under her belt prior the Mitubishi tournament, although  must say her decision could backfire just like what happened in the Malaysia tournament.

However, considering that this is her last year in the juniors and if she is really serious in becoming a professional tennis player, she should now start joining and winning on these higher level tournaments.

Jesson lost in finals 0-6;2-6.  I guess fatigue finally set in.... 3 straight long 3-set matches. Well he has a few days to recover before his next tournament in Malaysia where he is expected to be joined by Patrimonio, Nguyen and Rudas.

Overall still a great tournament run for him !  Grin

Arcilla vs Anasta finals.

Results:

Semis Singles: Patrombon beat Kahlke 6-3;6-1 will play Aussie Andrew Wittington who beat Germany's robin Kern 6-2;7-5. Head to head Jesson is 2-0 against Wittington, they met last year in the Quaterfinals (6-2;6-4) and a few months ago at the Australian Open (6-4;3-6;6-0) so Jesson will be the favorite tomorrow.

Doubles Finals: Patrombon/Grinter lost to Saville/Swaysland 4-6;3-6.

Mitsubishi Championships is just arround the corner, if entry list holds to form this is the toughest among the 3 Asian G1 tournaments. Jeson might not even be the Top seed. Looking forward to see our locals match up against foreign competitors. Hopefully, Jeson won't be too tired, Clarice and Jurence play to their potential.

One of the boys ang ituturing nyan ng mga tenista dahil one of the boys talaga yan.

Jesson lost to Whittington in 2 tough sets 4-6;6-7(3). Whittington is in good form coming to this tournament having reach the quarterfinals of an Australian futures event (beating former World Junior No. 1 and now Taipei's No. 2 player Tsung-Hua Yang in the process) so it should not come as a real suprise.

If its any consolation, I think Jesson did just enough to regain the No. 9 ranking from Filip Horansky. But he will be pressed to reach at least the finals of the Mitsubishi this week to maintain his ranking.

BDW... Aussies dominated this Malaysia G1 tournament winning boy's, girls, singles and doubles event.

Jurence medyo kulang pa sa nyagon... mga 2 years from now siguro.
