does it still hurt? inflamed? can you still rotate?

i had a lot of times happened with both shoulders during my basketball days. 1 time , it happened when i'm flexing my wing span. whew! need to relax and stoop down. voila, my left shoulder goes back to position again.

see a doctor 1st if you still there's pain or you think it's still dislocated.

my suggestion: put more muscles into it.

Is this the first time you've experience this or did it happened before?  Cause if it happened before it will keep on coming back until you have it checked up by a physician.  Putting muscles to it without doctor's consultation will damage it more.

mine, it all started when i sprained my right shoulder trying to steal the basketball. it got inflamed. then laro, un na-sprain ulit. the next few time- it got dislocated during a basketball tourney. itgot locked & can't put it back. it got in again, after i relaxed. after the game, i can't even lift a glass. it happened more than 20x na. but the major-major accident, syempre sa basketball din. it was dislocated when i hit the forearm of my kalaban and at the same time pataas ung kamay niya. un. grabe, d ko mabalik for 5min or more. nahinto ung play. but when i was able to lower by shoulder, the rotator's cuff -napunta sa ibabaw ng dede ko. un nagpadala ako sa san juan de dios to reduce it. they injected me a drugs to relax, then they were able to shoot it back without add'l pain on me. they xray it- and good thing its-ok! so 1 month of rehab, then played tennis again. they advised me to strengthen it with dumbbells.
iba naman ung mga experences ko with my left shldrs.
but the good thing is di na nag-dislocate ung mga shoulders ko. reminds me of hitting the dumbbells tonight. hehehe

lessons learned: if it hurts- always consult a physician, and don't play with an injury.

i share the pain, i have "impingement shoulder" its caused by frequent rotation of the shoulders from overhead sports (tennis, badminton,etc..)i used to play 3-4 times a week for 5 years....after weeks of pain (which thought would go away) consulted a sports doctor and prescribed me with 13 sessions of therapy-stretching using rubber therapy tubings, weights, ice packs, alignment of the cuffs etc.. it was relieving and i got to play again. though i still feel the minimal pain in some of my movements. but the best remedy is to rest immediately once the pain surfaces.pain is the way our body complaints to us and let a doctor tell u what to undergo.

Wow, hope I don't have to go through what you did! Been having shoulder (and elbow) problems for years now, they don't seem to go away. Siguro dahil pinipilit ko pa ring maglaro kahit na nakakaramdam ako ng pain. I was diagnosed with shoulder impingement a while back and began doing strengthening exercises but sometimes I'd forget to do them (o kaya walang time o tinatamad lang). Now I realized how important they are. For those who continue to play with shoulder/elbow pain like me, make sure you do some strengthening exercises regularly and don't forget to Rest, Ice, Compress and Elevate (RICE) the injured body part after playing.
