Right. I would have stopped after Ive spoken with the wilson representative because I was already convinced that my racket is genuine but a few days ago I received a private message reminding me that my racket was fake. So when I received the response to my inquiry, I thought that this is my chance to clear things up. So I posted the reply.

I checked the wilson customer care page guess what?!? somebody used it or posted an inquiry pretending to be me, grabe na itoooohhhh!!!!! Hahaha, all smiles.

Although the inquiry posted is beneficial to the general consumer the fact is somebody pretended to be me asking those inquiries. I guess to who ever did this, the propriety of a persons name is not important to him. I guess in his profession if you can call it a profession a persons name is not that important.

Hey, who ever you are if you can't accept reality........... then don't, hehe.

I never pretended to be you. I clicked the address to post my own inquiry. Did you see your name written on my question. I did not write my name since we dont normally write our name at pto. In short I forgot. i thought that anybody can ask questions to that site. I never thought that it was for your exclusive use. My question was pure and simple, I just asked why would wilson be making a racket so similar in model and color. That this would mislead consumers. It would be unfair to the consumers to buy something thinking  he is getting something different. Isnt it true that what you got was not the regular wilson ncode 5? All the while you thought you got the performance racket ncode 5. The model on your racket and the color was exectly the same. You thought you got the real ncode5 not the special makeup racket that wilson made exclusively for sports authority. Now do you think this is fair? I think wilson violated the trust of consumers by doing this. Would you still buy it if you knew that what you are getting is just a look alike? If wilson usa is really doing this, copying their own racket then what is the difference between a fake  and a gunuine look alike? I call it look alike because it is entirely a different racket not the same.

Ah ok, so you were the one who posted those inquiries, heres the thing the questions submitted indicates that the inquiry was asked by me because you have to login first using my email address before you can post an inquiry.

You said that  "I never pretended to be you" how can you say that when you logged in as me.

You also said that   "I clicked the address to post my own inquiry" then why not indicate that you were the one who posted those inquiries but its ok its an honest mistake you said that you forgot. Res ipsa loquitur. I also acted negligently not foreseeing that somebody could have easily posted an inquiry by clicking the link and clicking login.

The body of the question does not indicate per se that it was written by me but heres what it looks like, you guys decide.........

I get it, Wilson is copying their own product and selling it at a lower price. Head and Prince also make smu rackets but they are named and colored differently as to not mislead their customers. Hahaha

Hi,
May I know the reason why wilson would make a racket that has the same name and color but with different specs? This appears to be unfair. Sports Authority is selling it as a regular N5. Customers are buying it thinking that they are getting the same product at a bargain price. You should clearly indicate that it is a different model so customers would not be misled. The color and the graphics should not be identical. If wilson is really doing this, then wilson is cheating their customers.

Thank you for your interest. We did make a special racquet for Sports Authority called the N5. Which is different than the Ncode 5. There should of been a hand tag on the racquet showing the features and benefits.

Regarding your racket, im glad that it was a genuine wilson. I hope you are happy even if you know you got a different model than what you expected. Atleast colored and named very similar to Ncode5 even if not exectly the same.  They said you got a different model but were you aware of that when you made the purchase?

If I was the buyer, I would complain since I was mislead to believe that what i got was the ncode 5 not a look alike, genuine or fake.

For me there is only genuine wilson ncode 5, any racket that is not exectly the same as the orig specs is not an Ncode 5. You can call it whatever you want. Look alike or ____

Shown below is the special make-up (SMU) n5... Solid red hoop with no Triad technology... That's why it's inexpensive, but an original Wilson nonetheless.  SMUs can only be found in big box sporting goods chains.

The moral of the story is:
Patronize your local tennis pro shop (say hello to my USRSA co-member renald) where you're guaranteed to get the actual original at a good price. Plus, you get better hands-on service and knowledgeable staff (hopefully, hehehe) who can help you with your equipment issues. These are some of the intangibles you don't get from big box stores. As they say, you get what you pay for.

The string of my racquet finally broke. And instead of following some of the recommendations here, (sorry for that) I decided to try a different approach.

I still bought Dunlop poly but this time 16 gauge and asked the stringer to strung it at 1lb lighter than what I used before.
Result: The racquet suddenly became too powerfull. I could feel the trampoline effect of the ball on the strings. I had to lessen the power on my strokes a bit or hit the ball with more spin to keep it in. 

I'll just try to use it for a week then if after I still don't like it, I'll just cut off the strings and have it restrung. Guess I should have just kept my regular tension since I already used a slightly smaller gauge string or the other way around, same gauge (17) but lighter tension. Me and my experiments!!!

Did you have the same stringer? Using the same machine? The stringing machines should be calibrated periodically.

I dont believe that a lb will make such a difference. Maybe your stringer reduced the tension when installing poly. Maybe he read the note to reduce tension by 10%.

Yup. I believe he did use the same machine but I'm not sure if he gets his machine calibrated regularly. Btw, who does this calibration? As for if he reduced the tension,  that I don't know. I need to ask him tomorrow.

Calibration can be done by anyone knowledgeable about calibrating stringing machines. Maybe you could ask your stringer how often does he calibrate the machine or does he know how?

  Want to ask something, dati gamit ko raket ay wilson surge, nice n solid, then switch to ncode open same solid, but i switched to ksurge so light cant use it. then dunlop gave me 500tour, using it for 2months to powerfull n my wrist is in pain. now my question is, wilson nblade104 solid like ncodeopen? or k-open better? hope to hear from u. thanks
