Dear Everyone,
I am Bobby Armillo, a tennis coach from the Philippines.
For most of our local talents, tennis training programs can be very expensive. The costs of year-round coaching, the court time, the travel and tournament expenses are far beyond the capabilities of many parents spending for their kids’ tennis. A Youth Tennis Scholarship Program will help to defray the high cost of advanced tennis training by providing them with free coaching, equipment and facilities. These players will be selected with very important criteria comprised with commitment, academic excellence and sporting skills. Kids having problems with academics will be provided with volunteer tutors.
This program will help open the doors for economically underprivileged youngsters to develop what is needed to provide them with almost the same opportunity that others can get. More importantly, this is an excellent way to provide them with a chance to achieve what before was a financially unattainable goal,-to finish a college degree.
Tennis can be a springboard for dedicated youngsters who are willing to put in the time and effort to become competitive players. This program exposes youngsters to the sport's social and athletic benefits, and gives the participants a chance to possibly earn a collegiate tennis scholarship. The main objective of Youth Tennis Scholarship Program is to help these kids obtain high school and college scholarship and excel in their academics.
The format is designed to respond to the reasons most youngsters give for playing sports: to be with friends; to learn new skills, to have fun and to reach the main goal. There are many aspects in line that will motivate these kids to stay with the program. Competition is kept in proportion to players' abilities and commitment. Children who excel can be directed to more intense competition or to other, more advanced programs.
This program will provide these kids with scholarship opportunities in prospective schools. It will be a dream came true for financially underprivileged kids that someday they'll get to finish college on a tennis scholarship. Along the way, these kids need encouragement; they need positive reinforcement. Tennis is fun, it's healthy, and it teaches them to be a responsible individual and goal oriented.
I will spearhead and finance the program but I’m afraid that my personal resources are limited and will not be enough so I would need all the help that I can get. I wrote to seek help from you.

I think this is a very worthy cause. It would be great if all the PTO members would come together to help in this effort. If I was local I would have loved to offer my time by assisting you with the lessons or clinics. Please let me know how I can support you.

Please PM details on your proposed program and the costs involved and/or the contributions you are seeking in order to help defray the costs, whether financially or equipment and training materials. I would be interested in getting involved with your program in whatever capacity, on behalf of, and in conjunction with, TP.Org.
I applaud your efforts. This is something that our expat members, like burosky and others, can get together on.

Dear Everyone
Soon I come back on March, I will start looking for tennis courts that would want to be a venue for the program. Hopefully, with your support, I will be able to find some, otherwise, I will just try to build a tennis facility good enough to start with these kids training needs.
Your help with tennis equipment and training materials especially tennis rackets and training balls will greatly be appreciated.
