Our club regularly conducts free summer youth tennis clinics for beginners, its our way of enticing the young to pick up the sport. It’s conducted by some of our more advanced players as we don’t have enough resources to hire coaches. We are on our 4th year now and so far the response is encouraging. We have also been able to send some of our teens to the regional meets.

This year I want the clinic to be more scientific in approach. Is there any site or video perhaps that has a detailed Program of Instruction for Beginners and Intermediate which we could implement?

Thanks

tennis in 2 hours by oscar wegner. i highly recommend it. he shows a simple way of teaching beginners the game of tennis. he takes away all the complications of teaching the game. i implement a lot of what he teaches to my new students. i taught oscar's method to my 9 year old and he picked it up within a matter of minutes. he does make tennis easier than you think. Beginner and intermediate:
1. short warm up - jog around the court, footwork drill, tennis related movements
2. mini-tennnis warm up  (not necessary at this level)
3. drills - players take turns
- 3 to 4 balls feed by coach; 1 to forehand, 1 to backhand, 1 short ball, then volley
- 2 balls feed by coach; 1 short ball to bring player in, 1 long to move him back
- 1 short ball feed by coach short to forehand side; player hits ball down the line
- many other drill variations can be introduced (eg backhand slice for intermediate players)
4. play points (king/queen of the court game)
-at this level coach feeds the ball, player starts the point and play to 21
-player may feed the ball
5. optional - play a set (when players can serve consistenly)
6. practice serves
7. stretching

Tips:
Coach should ensure that players are stroking the ball from low to high and provide lots of encouragement.

Last year pa ako nag-register dito pero recently lang ako nagsimula mag-post.  Tanong ko lang kung kailangan mo pa ng info for this or kung nakahanap ka na.  Meron akong link na baka makatulong.

Check out niyo yung Get Started at Video.

http://www.littletennis.com/default.aspx/MenuItemID/105/MenuGroup/Teacher's+Toolbox.htm

Dito naman check out niyo yung mga lesson plans.

Siyempre may binebenta ang mga owners ng site na 'to pero hindi naman kailangan bumili ng kung ano para makita yung information.
