During a game I suddenly felt the tightening of the portion near my achilles tendon, near the heal. I ignored the pain and played on. When I arrived home I had it massaged a little and  forgot all about because of the workload I had that day although the discomfort was still there.

I went to bed still sore but when I woke up the pain was already unbearable. I can't walk without limping. What do you guys think happend? And reccommendations to relieve the pain?

Now I know what's wrong. It took me more than 3 months to realize that it's achilles tendonitis. don't ignore the symptoms if ever you feel it.

Dark,
I had same experience playing BBAll. 10yrs ago. MIne was I pulled the tendon out of the hill. I had a reattachment surgery and was out of comission for 2 years. NO PLAY, I only thought was a tendonitis first, but get some xray, it will get worse if not correted timely.. but if you can raise the front of ur feet up and down fully i hope it is only a tendonitis..

Only today have I read this reply. Yes poordoy, a friend of mine, a doctor, suffered the same fate as you. He snapped his achilles tendon and required surgery. Everyone who was there would swear they heard a very loud snap, like a branch was snapped in two.

you need to rest your foot...(thats bad about injury, matagal ang rehab period), kasi pag hindi mo ni-rest properly yan they'll come back and get even worse...sometimes u can't see them on xray...you can ask kung pwede scan para malaman mo yung extent. you just rest and painkillers and important rehab...

pres,
theres a lot of truth to that, but i wonder, u see when you are young, little things dont bother u that much, but when u get older u get so sensitive to every bothering things... just seems like the problem is LESS motivation in the head, thus letting out less energy.
thus weakens the body...
