let's record all matches sa league na ito sa ladder at sa tencap. tingnan natin ang calculation ng ntrp ng dalawang site na ito kung ano ang difference.

 Suggestion... can we create 3 categories sa GTN/ para lahat ng categories natin pasok  per NTRP rating . para ma limit ang challenge  ..i think doon natin makikita ang true ranking ng mga members ..and the top 8 in each category can level up to the next level... any comments???

Calling all PTO Members who:
1. wants to promote camaraderie through tennis single matches,
2. wants to assess and improve level of play,
3. wants to play 4 single matches within 6-week time frame in any agreed venue.

then, this league would benefit all of us if we have a common goal. Also, please bear in mind that this will not replace scheduled PTO tournaments.

The Rules:
1. Philippine Tennis Challenger Circuit (trial) (Oct. 5 - Nov. 14, 2010)

2. All PTO Members (even beginners) who signed-up will be grouped in five (5) players per division according to NTRP ratings, rankings and lottery.

3. Groupings will be posted by Oct. 4, 2010

4. Player 1 is to Supply New Balls and Call players 2 & 3 to arrange a match-up, location and time.
Player 2 is to Supply New Balls and Call players 3 & 4.
Player 3 is to Supply New Balls and Call players 4 & 5.
Player 4 is to Supply New Balls and Call players 1 & 5.
Player 5 is to Supply New Balls and Call players 1 & 2.

5. One match will consist of an 8 game pro-set. At 7-7 the players will play a 10-point super tie-breaker.

6. Each player is responsible to post his or her scores on the sheets provided.

7. At the end of each period, total games will be added and the following positions will move divisions accordingly:
1st and 2nd highest scores will move up one division
4th and 5th lowest scores will move down one division
3rd score will stay in the same division

8. In the event of a tie for total points, the winner of the players’ head-to-head match will be placed in the higher position.

9. If the caller has made every effort to arrange a match before the last 7 days of the current session, then the responsibility shifts to the other player. Players must call the Tournament Director to inform of this change.

10. Players that are unavailable to play for 10 days or more in any session are responsible for arranging all of their matches.

11. All matches must be played within the time frame provided. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.

12. Players not playing at least two matches shall be removed from the next league and may enter again in the usual way.

13. New persons wishing to enter the next league will be assessed by a selected committee and will be added to a division below the one of their standard.

14. A fifteen-minute default rule will be in effect.

15. If a player is to be off the area or country more than 7 days, please inform the other players in your group by writing dates next to your name.

16. Players waiting till the last week of the League to arrange matches risk having the opponent to take a walk-over due to lack of notice.

17. Everyone in the League will also be involved in a total point race which will be totaled quarterly; points will be awarded by games won.

18. I apologize to anyone that feels they have been put in the wrong division. It will honestly all work it self out in a couple of sessions.

17. If a match is not played, a (8-0) score will be awarded to the player NOT responsible for calling. However, the person who is awarded the “walk-over” please post the score on the league sheet.

18.The person who is responsible for calling and buying the balls will have the choice of playing service he or she wishes.


Notes:
1. No fees to be collected,therefore, no trophys nor awards will be given.
2. Maximum of 4 matches will be played within the league period.
3. Each player will supply a maximum of 2 cans of new tennis balls for use.
4. Pertinent fees (guest', court, lights and ballboys) shall be shared among players.

Pwede rin etong mungkahi mo sir. Para mawala yung sinasabi ng ibang subjectivity ng raters. Yung performance mismo ng players ang mag dedetermine ng NTRP nila. 3.5-4.0 isang group, 2.5-3.0 isa din, then 1.0-2.0 isang group din. Mas matetest narin natin effectivity ng GTN at Tencap.

If we are to use this Challenge Circuit, in effect, limited ang players to 4 matches in a given period. I believe this is a good number. Kung lahat ng player na naglista makaka-apat na match, I believe okay na yan. Take note that we only have 6 weeks for a given period.

if you are the caller and you want to have a court advantage, you could book your 2 matches within your area, or any venue basta agree din ung makakalaban mo. The important thing is the mailalaro ung match at an agreed venue, date and time.

hello naomxes - From rule number 5, the match will be a Pro Set (8 games). Kapag nag-7-all, a Super Tie-break (first player to reach 10 points) will be played.

smiley, a possible issue I'm seeing here is that most players would want to play on a court near their area while other players wanting the same (play somewhere near their location) there's a possibility of players not agreeing on one venue. I believe it will be better if the decision making process is done with the assistance of tournament organizers so the players will just have to follow what the organizers have decided on. Pero syempre, meron din namang mga players na willing to travel and don't care much about the distance of the venue. I'm just seeing that this might not apply to all players.

Based on my experience, most of my challenge matches e natuloy at nagkaroon ng agreement kung saang court ito lalaruin. Pati ang timing and days ay naayos ng mabuti. May naka-challenge ako na taga-Pasig, Laguna, Cavite, Manila, QC, Las Pinas at ako ay from Cavite. May mga challenge matches ako na doubles, at singles. Pagdating sa doubles, minsan yung mga partners e magkakalayo pa. pero overall, hindi nagkaroon ng issue sa location. By the way, si Darkwing is from Urdaneta pero natuloy naman ang challenge match namin noon. Ang mga challenge match ko noon, most of them is made and scheduled within a week timeframe. Sa league na ito, we have 6 weeks. Kung maayos ang mga players na nag-sign-up, I am sure, not MOST players, pero mangilan-ngilan lang siguro ang hindi mag-agree sa location ng court kung saan lalaruin ang match nila. So don't worry, I believe na yung item number 1 objective "to promote camaraderie through tennis single matches" listed by smiley shall prevail and most likely, isolated case lang yung mga di matutuloy na matches because of a disagreement sa venue.

since 4 matches lang in a circuit, 2 of those ikaw ung mag-set. pde sa court niyo or sa malapit sa inyo. and the remaining 2 matches, i-invite ka nung player within your group kung san niya gusto o san mapag-agreehan niyo. gaya ng sinabi ni francis, kung makapag-sched kayo ahead of time, i don't think magkaron ng problem. kaya i- block off niyo ung sched ng court para pagdating ng guest niyo di maging problem.
in case of force majure, re-set ung match niyo.

@naomxes, ung 1st circuit would be oct5- nov15. If you'll be here during these days and you think you could play all 4 matches within the period, join kayo. just make sure you indicate your date of arrival and your availability. you just need to arrange your matches properly.

I adopted this league from the Cayman Islands Tennis Club which i played 2 leagues until Hurricane wrought havoc to the Island. I started at group 5 and moved up to group 3 after. I find it a success there because we get to play with our same level and still progress if we win more game points.

Yes, i agree with you. This is a good activity wherein lots of PTO Members can get involve. And at the same time, we'll get to know other members as well and know "ano na ba level ko ngayon?" or " nag-improve ba ako o sila?"
