Date: September 17-19, 2010
Hosts: Korea
What's at stake?: Relagation Playoff - meaning ang matalo relagated sa Group II.
Team: I don't think it has been announced yet.

Mamiit, Gonzales, Huey, Alcantara - is the team that played and lost to Taipei.
Only Mamiit won a match (singles)

Others that might be considered on the team are - Arcilla, Tierro & Anasta.

No worries mate. Smiley

yung tanong mo na 'what are our chances?' - sa akin lang kaya natin 'yan. korea has the home advantage but our team is has the depth. huwag lang malasin!

the record is 5-3 in favor of phils. kaya lang last meeting we lost.

Korea is a young team but not to be taken lightly... I think their singles rankings combined is actually higher than ours.  I do hope we win though because this is our last chance to stay in Group 1.

Pag natalo paa tayo dito medyo nakakahiya... I checked the biography of the Korean players halos mga junior players pala ang maglalaro a singles.  Kalabanni Cecil 17 years old lang.

sayang, may napanood ako kanina sa Asian Hospital cable tv, Davis Cup pero Brazil vs India. before we left, 3-3 ang score pero mukhang mas malakas sa baseline ground strokes yung Brazillian, yung Indian naman net game. sana pinalabas din Phil-Korea match

Cecil also lost after winning the first 2 sets 6-0;6-1.... I guess age is already catching up with him and unless a miracle happens were back to Group 2 again next year.

same thing happen to cecil when he played Soeda in Japan. He was up 6-4 1st set and 4-2 2nd set then his level of play went down. Like this time, He was up 6-1,6-0 very easy match then 3rd set the other way around. I've been there and I know we can't win against our age. He is 33 yrs. old vs teenagers.......wake up Philippine Tennis we need young guns!

Agree with you SLP, 33 going 34 years old against an upcoming 17 years old kid is tough. First thing to go is your overhead, then your legs. Cecil did accomplish a lot for the Philippines, though. Solid pa rin yung 91 Davis Cup natin SLP Wink

Very Good Win!!! We will now stay in Group 1..... another good news is that India, Kazakstan and probably Australia has won/is winning their playoff ties, that means we will probably not contend with these teams next year so we expect Group 1 to be easier next year.

VAMOS! a good win by US, ahem I mean the Philippines laugh That's right, a win is a win. Last hurrah na ni Cecil ito, but I think Treat will lead Team Philippines very well in the future. Need to recruit some young guns now to maintain our group 1 status or even improve our standing.

players natin. tama win is a win kahit anong klaseng pagkapanalo.

Kyle Dandan is in Santa Clara and he is doing fine, playing no.1 on their team. Nasayangan ako kay PJ, he got the game to go another level, pero I think some sponsors backed out. Not sure about Patrombon and Alcantara if they can step up to the next level. After those kids, wala na akong makita na papalit kina Mamiit and Huey.
