I am planning po kasi na mag join ang anak ko sa age group tournament.
Ano po ba ang ma-recommend mo na tournament for a 12 years old na babae.
Last time po kasi na nagkita tayo last year doon sa metro age group tournament sa Rizal memorial naglalaro si Louise. Regards na lang and congrats kay Louise, I read about her in the online newspaper.

hi Boyet!  Welcome back!  Glad to hear that your daughter is getting into tennis.  To answer your queries:

Yung group no. ng junior tournaments will determine the number of ranking points awarded.  The highest group is group 1 and the points awarded sa kung sinong mag champion dito ang pinakamataas.  Kaya naman yung mga magagaling na players, siguradong join yan sa group 1 or group 2.  Since your daughter is 12 years old, either sa 12 and under sya pwede or 14 and under.  You can check with Philta kung saan sya pwede kasi depende yan sa birth month ng anak mo.  Until here and keep on visiting/posting.  Good luck and let us know if you need further info. Interested pala  ang anak ko na mag join sa "TRU-FLEX National Age Group tournament" sa March 31 - April 6. 

12 years old siya ngayon pero ang b-day niya ay December 1995.
Puwede pa ba siya sa 12 under girls? or dapat sa 14 under na siya mag join?

Mayroon bang requirements para makasali? dapat pa ba mag pa-qualify or kailangan lang mag submit nang entry.  Is it possible na mag submit nang entry online?

Boyet, I believe sa 14 and under na sya papayagan mag join.  There are no requirements para sumali except to fill up the application form (meron yan sa Rizal Memorial).  Ang alam ko, pwede mag submit ng entry by fax.  You can try sending an email to Loida Mallare at philta@info.com.ph and ask her to send you by email the entry form.  You can ask her na din kung ano ang mga requirements pa and yung deadline ng pag send ng entries.  All the best!!!!!

We are trying to send a couple of Juniors from the Agoo Tennis Club (La Union) down to Manila to play in the Philta Sponsored tournament at Olivarez scheduled for Mar 22-23. I was told by those trying to contact Philta and Olivarez that it has been postponed. Can anyone verify this?.. I see by the postings here that quite a few PTO members play at Olivarez. Hoping someone can find out what the status is and when it will be rescheduled.. Thanks in advance.

hi boyet!  normally, sa 16 and 18 and under ang events nila.  di sila join this March/April sa Philta tournament as they will be out of town for the Palarong Pambansa in Palawan.  After that, baka aabot pa sila sa ibang tournaments.  Sunud sunod ang tournaments during summer.  Isali mo lang sya ng isali para masanay.   Basta importante, magkaexperience sa tournaments.  Best of luck

Loida of PHILTA emailed me the entry form, sabi ni loida sa 14 and 16 years and under na lang daw puwede ang daughter ko. kaya lang hindi na rin makakasali ang anak ko kasi one week lang ang spring break nila, mayroon na siyang pasok sa school during the tru flex tourney.
maybe sa ibang tournanment na lang siya sasali kung mayroon time.
maglalaro ba si louise sa palarong pambansa?

Hi Boyet!  Sayang naman.  Anyway, check the schedules posted above so you can decide which tournaments to join depending on her availability.  Isali mo lang ng isali.  Yes, louise will play in the Palarong Pambansa (h.s. girls doubles) ang event nya.  All the best to your daughter.  Practice practice practice.
