LEANDER LAZARO thumped Patrick Arevalo, 6-2, 6-3, to barge into the premier boys’ 18 years and under finals even as upsets continued to overhaul the formcharts in the 19th Andrada Cup Age-Group Tennis Championships at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.
The second seeded Lazaro, aiming for a double championship, will meet top seed Kim Ivor Saraza, who effortlessly claimed the other finals seat after Tim Polero failed to show up in their semis match, for the crown set today at 11 a.m.

Saraza made it without a sweat, claiming his berth when Alberto Villamor failed to show up for their match while Alina dumped Ed Amor, 6-3, 6-3, and Patrambon won by default over Kim Polero.
Nikki De Dios, meanwhile, ignited the spate of upsets by shrugging off a second set lapse to oust second seed Rachel Lucero, 6-4, 0-6, 6-2, in the quarterfinals of the girls’ 18-under and arrange a Last 4 meeting with third pick July Javelosa, a 6-4, 6-4 winner over Kimbery Mella.

Olivarez clipped Brysl Libao, 6-1, 6-2, while Salas blanked Maia Balce, 6-0, 6-0, for a finals showdown.
Baba made up for her 16-under loss by racing past Alexandra Apostolicas, 6-0, 6-0, in the other 18-under quarterfinals match for a semis duel with Natasha Gaston, a 6-1, 6-1 winner over Kahnee Joseph.
