 In this time of financial crisis, we should always remember this saying "HEALTH IS WEALTH". It's very difficult to sick nowadays. Hospitalization is very expensive. Even if you are confined in a government hospital, you have to spend for laboratory examinations, medicines and professional fees of the doctors.

 Health diets, regular exercise, abstinence from smoking and moderate alcohol intake are key components of a healthy lifestyle.

 With the changing lifestyle of Filipinos, chronic degenerative deseases such as diabetes, heart desease and cancer are becoming significant health problems.

 How do you practice a healthy lifestyle? Here are some simple tips to follow:

  * Increase consumption of vegetables particularly the leafy and yellow vegetables like alugbati, saluyot, malunggay, camote tops, kangkong or fresh salads.
  * Eat at least 2-3 servings of fruits. They are rich sources of Vitamin C, beta-carotene and potassium.
  * Limit consumption of fatty foods especially those from animal sources.
  * Eat breakfast that is high in complex carbohydrates like oatmeal, rootcrops, whole grain cereals and bread.
  * Avoid excessive intake of sugar and salt.
  * Exercise regularly for at least 3 to 5 times a week for 20-30 minutes or more.
  * Do not smoke. The best rule is never to start smoking because once the habit is established, giving up smoking is not easy. It can only be done if the smoker sets his mind to stop.
  * Drink alcoholic beverages in moderation. Moderate alcohol consumption means no more than one drink per day for women and no more than 2 drinks per day for men. One drink of alcoholic beverage means 1 bottle (12 ounces) beer or 1+ glass wine or 1 jigger (1 ounce) whiskey or 1 1+ ounce of gin.

Let us all practice a healthy lifestyle to stay healthy and to live longer.

Buti nalang Naialis ko na ang lahat na yan........Tennis nalang ang hindi ko maialis na bisyo ko. Hindi ko talaga maialis ang bisyong pag tetennis dahil nakasalalay na yan sa agos ng dugo ko......

 bawasan ang kain ng kanin at huwag kakain after 9 PM.

 bawasan ang kain ng kanin at huwag kakain after 9 PM.

Sir Junbug:

Mahirap sa akin to kasi we eat sa ibang oras. Like, breakfast is mostly around 10AM, lunch is around 3Pm, meryenda is around 5PM and dinner is 9ish. Mga kapit bahay nga namin napapansin nila patulog na sila nagluluto palang daw kami. Smiley

you are one of the few exceptions. as long as you limit the carb intake at dinner you  and many others like you out there should be fine.

 bawasan ang kain ng kanin at huwag kakain after 9 PM.

here are some personal tips on how to live H.A.L. (a Healthy and Active Lifestyle):

- eat oatmeal to lower your cholesterol level --> it's my favorite breakfast  angel     
- jog as much as possible --> katamad toh pero I'm used to it  Wink
- exercise like doing weights --> katamad din to pero I'm fun w/ it  Cheesy
- avoid vices (smoking, alcohol)--> I do smoke and drink in moderation   police
- get enough sleep always --> i'm trying my best  Cool
- hydrate by drinking plenty of water & juices --> of course  laugh
- take supplements --> I take vit.C, minerals w/ amino acids  Smiley
- play tennis w/ your friends --> my hobby  Grin

ok yan vitz. pero ang di ko kaya yung number 1. hahaha! mahal oatmeal e. lugaw or champorado. sexlife wag nyong tanggalin... remember kahit healthy lifestyle ka pa pwede kang magkasakit ng di mo inaasahan. may kakilala akong vegetarian nagka cancer. tigok.  laugh
