I know that this is already looking forward, but can anyone post the schedule of the Men's and Women's Singles quaterfinals? I mean will it be held on a Thursday or a Friday? I planning to watch from the Quarterfinals onwards lang.

Also, Maricris already withdrew in the 2nd leg of the ITF tournament any news about her participation here?

Petrombon lost to unheralded Dodong Rubillar in the 1st Round 6-3, 6-2 as the promising youngster from Iligan City failed to flash the form that carried him to the quarterfinals of the World Super Juniors in Osaka recently.

Thanks for the updates "Montenejo" keep them coming.

Hope Lawrence Formentera competes in the 2 ITF Juniors tournament. Since he was born 1991 he is still qualified to play. Para matest din siya against Alcantara and Patrombon.

Tennis King, I'm sure he is eligible to play together with our Pinoy juniors on PHINMA INTERNATIONAL JUNIORS TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP (Week 1 & 2) Grade 4 which will be held at Rizal Memorial Tennis Center on November 22 to December 5 right after the ITF Womens Circuit.

So, enjoy watching continuously. Calling our PTO Juniors, don't miss every moves of top junior international players. This is a learning experience especially for you and to all of us.

Without Riza and Maricris medyo mahina na yung draw sa ladies singles. Although, I'm rooting for Reggie Santiago (if she's fit) to cause upsets in the upper half.

By the way, how does Mark Reyes play? Is he as good as Tierro or Arcilla?

I'm impress with that kid Regi Santiago. Sayang kung naexpose yan ng bata pa sa ITFs she could have maximized her potential. Definitely she has more game than the Patrimonio sisters.

Definitely agree of all our Junior Players she is the one with the most talent and her shots "pang world class".  If only she is given the same opportunity as Alcantara, Patrombon, I really think she can make it big. Sayang mas madali pa namang mapenetrate ng isang asian ang women's pro and men's.

Results:

Mens Singles

Arcilla beat Pagalulan (2-0)
Alcantara beat Anasta (2-0)
Reyes beat Ruel (2-0)
Tierro beat Barte (2-0)

Semifinals tommorrow: 1st Match Reyes versus Tierro at 11:00 a.m.
2nd Match Arcilla versus Alcantara at 12 noon.

Reyes is the man to watch, he is quite impressive in beating Ruel this afternoon.  I still pick PJ to be the slight favorite but he must play 100% to win.

Women's Singles

Arevalo beat Logan (2-1)
Agra beat Pang (2-1) - very long and quite boring match with both players hitting moon balls almost at every point.
Christine Patrimonio beat Santiago (2-0)
Clarice Patrimonio beat Zoleta (2-0) - 6-1; 6-2

Clarice played suberb controlled tennis overpowering Bambi Zoleta in two easy sets. This is best i've seen her play. But her next match versus Arevalo on Saturday should be a tester.

Semifinals (on Saturday)

Arevalo versus Clarice Patrimonio
Agra versus Christine Patrimonio

Men's Doubles

Arcilla/Tierro beat Reyes/ Remigio (2-0)
Alcantara/ Jovel beat Mantua/Ruel (2-0)
Sabas/Abadia beat Kraut/Santamaria (2-1)

Women's Doubles

Olivarez/Logan beat Canina/ Huh (2-0)
Fernandez/Patrimonio beat Agra and Zoleta (2-0)
Guba/Amoranto beat Pang and De Castro (2-0)
Saret/Arevalo beat Patrimonio/Rudas (2-0)

The men's and women's doubles semifinals will also be played tomorrow.

Clarice has the potential to be a great player if she can control her shots and improve her techniques. Her power is given even comparable to some of the best young players in world but techniques, control and self confidence is not yet there. Hopefully this win is a start.

I can't believe Regi Santiago lost. I really thought it'll be a breeze beating the older Patrimonio.

Anne Christine's game is really suited to PCA's slow clay courts, she is a smart scrapper with great retrieving capabilities.  She has the game to frustrate Regi who she already beaten twice in the past.

Results Today:

Men's Singles

He could have won the match 6-1; 6-1 as he was leading 4-1 in the second set with 3 game points to go 5-1 medyo nawala lang yung focus)

Finals will be on Sunday 1:00 p.m. best of five.  My prediction Johnny in 4 sets.

Other results:

Men's Doubles

Arcilla/Tierro beat Sabas and Abadia 6-3; 6-2
Alcantara/Joven beat Anasta and Ruel 6-1; 4-6; 6-1

Women's Doubles

Amoranto/Guba beat Fernandez/Patrimonio 7-6; 6-1 (halos 4 hours yung match puro moonballs yung first game sa second set inabot ng 30 minutes may mga rallies na more than 100 shots kaya medyo inantok yung mga nanonood)

Schedule tomorrow:

Arevalo versus Clarice Patrimonio 9:00 a.m.
Agra versus Christine Patrimonio to follow 10:00 am

Men's Doubles Finals 2:00 pm.
Women's Doubles Finals 3:00 p.m.

There's a changing of guards at least in the Men's Doubles as the tandem of Alcantara and Joven upset the top seeds Johnny Arcilla and John Patrick Tierro 7-6 (2); 6-2 to win the PCA men's doubles championship.

Medyo restricted yung movements ni Johnny, I guess he did'nt want to overexert himself in preparation for the singles championship tomorrow. Pero take nothing away from the winners galing ng partnership nila lalo si Nino excellent sa net halos di masagot yung mga volleys niya.

sinong nanalo sa pca open, any indications? mukhang

local teams natin.

They say that the hardest for a newcomer to win is the PCA Open, the heat, noise and the crowd are just some of the distractions that more often than not are too much for a young upstart to deal with.  Well this year is no exception as veterans Czarina Mae Arevalo and Johnny Arcilla demolished their rivals Anne Christine Patrimonio and Mark Reyes in straight sets.

First Match:  Arevalo beat Patrimonio 6-2; 6-3

Arevalo just has too much power and game for Patrimonio who played to defensively throughout the much.  As Arevalo in not the best mover, granting that Patrimonio cannot match her oponent's power she should at least made the rallies longer, throw slices, dropshots, moonballs anything to upset Arevalo's rhythm and make her think as the longer the rally goes that more chance of her winning the point. Kaya lang oposite ang nagyari Arevalo has a field day hitting winners off Patrimonio's short balls. I also felt that Patrimonio was tense maybe a case of "wanting to win too much". Well bata pa naman siya there will be more chances for her in the future.

Second Match: Arcilla beat Reyes 6-3; 6-3; 6-1

Arcilla was in his A Game, the best I've seen him play for the very long time. From the first point onwards he was firing on all cylinders. Reyes actually came into the match with all confidence seeing how Johnny suffered cramps in his match against Nino and his medicoire performance in the doubles yesterday pero wala talaga Johnny was just too good today. By the way inannounce na magiging future Davis Cup member si Reyes well good for him... no objections really dito naman yan lumaki sa Pinas at magaling magtagalog.

Seeing how Czarina manhandled that Patromonio sisters in this tournament. I cannot help but wonder why she was bypassed in the National team selection.

And also sorry for the gramatical errors in the previous posts nagmamadali kasi ako magtype kaya di ko na naproof read he! he!

Thanks tennis king for the updates.

Tennis King, thanks for long but meaningful updates. 9:00 Am I'm already there at PCA. I watched the Inter-University (UST vs UP) while waiting for the Women's Singles Final to start at 11:00 A.M. Sobra ngang maiingay yung mga estudyante cheering for their school at the other courts up to the time na naglalaro na sina Patrimonio and Arevalo. You're right. Arevalo played offensively and Patrimonio defensively. Arevalo's experience prevailed. Maybe next time, babawi si Anna Cristine.

I left PCA after Arevalo-Patrimonio game because I've tournament game at Olivares(Paranaque) in the afternoon.

Tnx TK for the updates and insights, I guess Reyes is the future of Philippine tennis. He proved himself at the PCA Open. Hopefully din na they won't have the PCA Open and the  2 ITF women's tennis circuit held at the same time. I was hoping na si Zalameda and Maricris F. would play at this PCA Open. Anyway, next are the 2 Phinma ITFs.

Not sure kung totoo.

Actually I still believe that Nino will be the future of Philippine Tennis. He is by far the most talented junior player I have ever seen. He almost beat Arcilla in this tournament and I am willing to bet that next year will be Nino's year.

also watched the game, nung bata pa c mark, ganun na laro, medyo eratic pa.pero magaling tlaga c arcilla, sobrang gulang kanina.fyi, babalik na ulit si mark sa italy this nov 30, and he will spend the rest of his time muna in nueva ecija.1 week pla before the trnament, tsaka plang dumating si mark, sabi ng mga kakilala ko sa nueva eija, ung pca lang tlga ang dahlan kung bkit xa umuwi, and it payed off.hope he will improve more in italy

Mas may chance to improve unlike Arevalo na na-reached na nya yung peak nya during 2006 when she got in the top 700.

Saka Patrimonio sisters have moulah and influence;)

By the way, ilang taon na si Reyes? Hindi ko pa sya nakikitang maglaro.
