Murray became the first Briton since Roger Taylor in 1970 (l. to Rod Laver) to reach the Rogers Cup final on Saturday, after defeating seventh-seeded Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-4, 7-6(  in one hour and 50 minutes on Saturday afternoon. Murray saved two set points in the tie-break at 5-6 and 7-8. It was the pair’s third meeting. Murray will be the first player other than Federer and Nadal, who both lost in the Rogers Cup quarter-finals on Friday, to rank No. 2 since 18 July 2005. Murray, 22, is already the highest-ranked Briton in ATP history (since 1973). By reaching Sunday’s final, Murray has accumulated 8,850 points to surpass Nadal’s total haul of 8,665 points. |

pero miss ko na playing style nya dati. around 2007 under brad gilbert. aggressive pa sya nun attacking style talaga. pero imposible na syang maging ganun ulit.  |

Kayang kayang abutan si Roger if he wins the US open.
Well, Murray has a shot to becoming world number 1 after the US open. If Federer does not perform good in Cincy and in the US open he may lose precious points especially in the US open. Fed only needs to better his 3rd round loss last year in Cincy so he probably would not lose much points here but the pressure would be on him though in the US Open to defend his title. Murray on the other hand has to defend Cincy this week, so he'll not earn points this week but will retain his ranking points going to the US open. If Murray does not win Cincy, he'll lose some points. To earn points in the US Open Murray should also do better than being just a Finalist. Meaning he needs to win that GS to earn his first grand slam and probably the world number 1 spot. |
