In our case I think it is better to start now rather than just do nothing at all.  Having a rating system like this can be very valuable to an organization like ours, since it can more or less level the players for amateur tournaments.

Guys, thanks for all the inputs ,and suggestions,.. now PTO can move on! ..we can host  a PTO circuit at 56ers, for class A B & C . then maybe ,Perpetual can do the same!, that way we can now use the ratings that where given to our members, maybe other clubs that are affliated with PTO can do the same! that way we will have a whole year round of tennis competition, in so doing ,all our members will be competitive  and will have fun in playing ,since all competitors are properly ranked!. we hope to realized this dream as soon as possible!!

For what it’s worth, I am currently benchmarked by the USTA leagues as a 3.5 player.  I’ve had a couple of singles matches against Harry at Citadella and our matches were very close.  If memory serves me right, one went to a third set and the other went to a tiebreak.  I don’t know what Harry’s rating is but maybe you can glean something from our match results.  We also had that Army(?) player at our last EB who graciously lent his skills to our organization.  From my very limited observation of his game, I’d say he’s a 4.5, but no more than a 5.0, player.

Like what we have discussed last night in the chatroom with Francis, Fabs, Mark etc. maybe we can consider Rick's suggestion and use him as a benchmark too? Since he had played with Harry and like he said the match was very close then we can consider this and cross reference our rating system with that of Harry's skill level? Aside from using John, the friend of Fabio's couz.

Guys may I suggest we just focus only up to 5.5 players, 6.0 onwards is PHILTA territory.  Anyway these ratings are for the benefit of the PTO members. I doubt we will have PTO sponsored tournaments for nationally ranked and junior players

Two high school students from the Science City of Muñoz took home a Silver Medal by wining at the Lawn tennis –Doubles Secondary Boys at the Palarong Pambansa held in Naga City last June 3-9, 2002.

YOUNG MUÑOZONIANS GRAB A SILVER AT PALARONG PAMBANSA

Two high school students from the Science City of Muñoz took home a Silver Medal by wining at the Lawn tennis –Doubles Secondary Boys at the Palarong Pambansa held in Naga City last June 3-9, 2002.
