Bro paki rephrase yung sinabi mong  -"8 times in a row na sya nun" -  hehe. super duper player na c Sampras sa 7 times in "in a row" niya. Cheesy

Kung totoong "Federer was ill all season long" sa 2008, close lang naman match nila ni Nadal sa Wimbledon. Ibig sabihin lang may posibility pa manalo Federer even playing with injury.

Peace Mikki hehe.

WIMBLEDON

Where all the top players meet.  In some very exciting matches, Many people think its the best Grand Slam, But rain often cause delays.  Lining up is how most people get a ticket.  Everyone says it's worth the wait.  Days are when drama unfolds.  Only the time different from England means Night time is when we watch it from TV!  Cheesy Grin Wink

Whether Nadal will play Wimbledon or not, important tong mga preparation tournaments for Wimbledon. The more games they prepare the better the players perform for the big event.

For edreams,

Here is an article entitled "Wimbledon Watch" by Kristina Moore from June 2009 issue of Australian Tennis Magazine.  This is about your idol.  Grin

ANDY'S ANGLE

Several seasons have passed without note since Andy Roddick finished runner up to Federer in 2004 and 2005, but there's still a sense of unfinished business surrounding the top American.  With all eyes on the "big four" of Federer, Nadal, Murray and Djokovic, it could be the right time for the newly-married Roddick, whose big-serving style is best suited to grass, to strike a Grand Slam blow.  But a ninth All-England Club campaign carries an added element of pressure for Roddick, who was devastated after a second-round exit to Janko Tipsarevic in 2008.  Consistency keeps the American in the top ten, but he's claimed only one lower-level singles title (Memphis) since teaming with high profile coach Larry Stefanki earlier this year.

Here is additional information on Wimbledon Watch

SAFETY IN NUMBERS

With the pressure of performing at their home Grand Slam gone, French players often perform well at Wimbledon.  And considering their numbers on the respective tours, you can expect at least one French player to flourish at SW19.  Gilles Simon, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils are all firmly entrenched in the ATP upper echelons.  In fact, the 13 top 100 ranked Frenchmen are matched only by the ten similarly ranked women.  Hopes will rest most firmly with 2007 finalist Marion Bartoli (the top Frenchwoman at No. 13) and 2006 champ Amelie Mauresmo (currently at No 16).  Also finding some major form is 19 year old Alize Cornet, who was among the last 16 women at the Australian Open.

Thanks Sky for the nice observation! Wink

Yes Sir Addie, this shows also how good France developed their tennis players.  Grin Grin Grin
Although wala pang number 1 pero sa dami ng nasa Top 100 or 200 whether Men's or Women's  they are very near na....
Just like "WE'RE KNOCKING AT YOUR DOOR"....... Grin Grin Grin
I envy them, Sir Nadale! .. if only our sports leaders can emulate teh french tennis federation , maybe we are also on top! Wink
I 110% agree with you Sir Addie...... Grin Grin Grin

More on the Wimbledon Watch

FROM LEFT FIELD

Rafael Nadal is largely an exception to the rule when it comes to Spaniards winning Wimbledon and while you wouldn't expect any of his countrymen to claim All England Club glory, there's at least a couple who could make an impact.  Fernando Verdasco, who has twice progressed to the last 16 and is of the rare breed of Spaniards who prefers grass to clay.  Also watch for his buddy Feliciano Lopez, who saves his best form for the grass court major.  The serve-volley stylist is a two-time quarter-finalist and keen to maintain that record in 2009.

Off topic:

Sir Addie and Nadale....you guys are both right!  Politics rears its ugly head. Angry  Tennis Australia also has its share of problems.  This is the reason why there is a decline in the sport that they used to dominate.

SERBIANS IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Novak Djokovic has a point to prove after his second round exit to Marat Safin in 2008.  There's also the No 3 ranking to reclaim, with Andy Murray moving into third spot during the European clay season.

Jelena Jankovic was the best achiever last year, progressing to the fourth round while nursing a thigh injury.  After a shaky start to 2009, the fourth-ranked Jankovic made her presence felt again in claiming the Marbella title.  Ana Ivanovic entered 2008 Wimbledon as No 1. but lost to Jie Zheng in the third round.  The 21 year old enjoys grass, as evidenced by her 2007 semi-final finish, and will be keen to make amends this time around.

Yup Sir Addie!  It's definitely true.  There are two (2) upcoming Australian tennis stars namely Bernard Tomic and Jessica Moore.  The next Aussie hopes in OZ Tennis.  Both of these had a good showing during the 2009 Australian Open most especially Tomic who made his way to the second round.

i have high hopes for ivanovic, but the draw has just been released and the potential 4th round opponent is venus... and she's still out of her best form like before.
