Picture is from the Mandaluyong Tennis Club at the then National Mental Hospital Compound.With the late Manda Vice Mayor Benny Francisco (center bald headed) 2nd far right is Dr Eric Clarin former nr 1 NCAA San Beda Tennis Player (white shorts holding the net) with my father Martin F Salle (both deceased).Katabi ni erpats si Benny Ledesma father ni Cookie Ledesma former RP ranked player...the rest of the names cannot accurately recall sinabi lang sakin ito ng father ko...

I just signed in as a member. I am a member of the Echo Park Tennis Club in Los Angeles, CA , U.S.A. I have a nephew who is 17 years old who is one of the top players in Southern California.He was a Champion in the 16 years old & under in the Easter Bowl, the most prestigious tournament for juniors in the whole U.S.A. which is open to all top players in the nation. He represented the U.S.A. in the Jr. Davis Cup held in Italy two years ago. He got a wild card slot in the U.S. Open (Jr.)I encouraged him to participate in tournaments held in the Philippines because, afterall, he is a Filipino too because despite his being born and raised here in the U.S.A., his dad who is my brother is still a Philippine citizen.He and his dad like the idea of him playing in the Philippines and so, can somebody in the PHILTA give us an update of tournaments held there for this year? Who knows he could represent the Philippines in international tournaments if he showed his mettle out there! Waiting.

Thank you for furnishing me the PHILTA Schedule of Tournaments.I understand there is a tournament sponsored by Manny Pacquiao, the Pacquiao & Ocampo Tennis Tournament. Is it sanctioned by PHILTA? You know, Manny is a family friend and perhaps this also can weigh in on my brother's/nephew's plan to actively participate in our country's tennis tournaments.
Also, thank you so much for forwarding my son-in-law's message. Bing, Daddy and Pedoy are members of the Panapa-an (Bacoor, Cavite) Tennis Club of which I am also a member. I'm quite sure Bing (Pila) is familiar to you as he was one of the country's top tennis players in the 80's & 90's.
