Aside from setting some time to meet and hit a few balls with PTO members, I wanted to observe you and your sister in practice and perhaps I can lend my expertise and make some recommendations and/or performance tweaks on your rackets. I am deeply concerned about the state of Philippine tennis. I believe that we have the talent to compete but the support for player development is either minimal, severely limited or non-existent. This problem is not exclusive to the Philippines but other small countries as well, particularly the newly-independent Eastern European countries. Talented players in these countries eventually find their way into the United States via athletic scholarships. Here, players get the coaching and practice drills necessary to compete against a large pool of players with various skills at various levels. This past summer, for example, my kumpadre's daughter who happens to be a high school senior is currently being recruited by no less than 5 schools as a full athletic scholar. i used prince warrior before. i switched to O3 Tour, ... i find it a bit head light, im looking for lead tapes but its not available here. i play all-court ... but loves serve and volley at times. im currently using toalsons cyberblade strings, (compare to luxillonbannger, marketing statement) ... it really doesnt move.
maybe u can bring some stuff when u visit the philppines sometime november? thanks!!

Yes, the O3 Tour is indeed head light, about 6 pts more head light than the Warrior. A lot of players have been telling me that lead tapes are not available there. I'm really surprised. It's a shame because lead tapes are one of the easiest ways of fine tuning your racket. The Cyberblade Thermaxe strings are good strings. The thinner 17g version may actually be better than the Luxilon Big Bangers, although the Luxilon is better than the thicker 16g Thermaxe. If you're not currently doing so, I suggest you try the thinner 17g version of the CB Thermaxe. It presents a softer stringbed so it's easier on the arm, and it holds tension better than the 16g. The durability is just about the same. When it comes to these types of strings, i.e., polyester-based and polyester composite strings such as the ones mentioned above, I recommend the Tecnifibre Promix in either 16g (1.30mm diameter) or 17g (1.25mm diameter). It is softer (less harsh) than any poly strings in the market and it has the best tension holding ability. These are excellent qualities as poly-based strings are notorious for tension loss and being stiff, especially in hot and humid weather as in Manila. |

Nice to have an online tennis forum.
Been playing for about 7years na kaso 5years dun e beginner. See I was taught by my older brother how to play tennis kaso seaman siya and everytime na sumasakay siya ng barko, natitigil ako sa paglalaro.
Right now, I can only play during sundays and I think my game's pretty decent(you wish! LOL).
I'm willing to join Tennis EBs kahit na manggaling pa ako ng Pampanga.

wow lau nun bro, hope na makalaro k namin pwede ko naman i-sked kung luluwas ako like yesterday, we were at Alabang Town Center to attend the Mobile Pilipinas 2006 till 9pm... hehehe are you serious? you'll do that for tennis? yeap, i'll do that to improve my tennis... di ba you have to experience yung iba-ibang klaseng bola to be able to improve your game? if you keep on playing on the same bunch of people, you'll never know what level you are until you play with someone you've never played before... besides, i'd like to meet new faces... mejo mahiyain kasi ako, hehehe kung matuloy sa citadella, meron din akong dating schoolmate na nag-work sa adjacent school and lives nearby din, might be a good time to catch up with a good friend  idol n kita pjason iba ka:) hehehehehe
don't put your hopes high, di ako ganun kagaling... usually, i play tennis as an anger management scheme kaya eto ako ngayon, mejo beginner pa rin kasi pumupunta lang ako ng tennis court when i'm really in a bad mood... hehehe trying some catching up and try to focus para naman di ako mapahiya pag nakalaro ko kayo, hehehe |
