Tennis is a sport you can play until you get old. It gives healthy lifestyle and it develops your personality. I started playing tennis when I was in high school and I get to enjoy the sport when I realized that Ive learned to control my shots. I am 36 now (laughing and pointing to his waistline) but I still enjoy being on the tennis court playing the sport I always love to play. Tennis gives us a wholesome environment where we get to meet new friends and build camaraderie and sportsmanship among each other. I would like to congratulate the graduates of this tennis clinic headed by Bobby Armillo and wish happy birthday to the four people celebrating their birthdays today, said SEC. ANGELO REYES, guest of honor and speaker of HATS Dunlop Tennis Clinic : Complete Beginners Course graduation held January 11, 2009 at Camp Aguinaldo Tennis Courts in Quezon City. The course was participated by individuals from different parts of Metro Manila. It was an introductory instructional program designed to teach basic skills quickly to new players in a group environment. The major and fundamental strokes were covered. To complete the course and make the participants elite graduates, they have to pass an initiation where they were required to perfectly execute hundreds of strokes and do squats and lunges in betweens. It was hard work and dedication that helped these tough individuals conquer the test of pain of the initiation that lasted for about 2 hours. The initiation was followed by a singles tournament where they get to test their skills and compete with fellow graduates. Knubil Delfin won the Mens Division and Cheann De Castro won the Ladies Division while Jermaine Steven Aduana and Rosemarie Delos Ama were the runner-ups respectively. Other participants are Ronnie Aguilar, Icy Anabo, Andrew Ancheta, Allan Bautista, Andrew Carpio, Diane Abigail Cruz, Erich Cuaresma, Roxanne Delos Ama, Kristen Diamante, Erick Rowel Ko, Erwin ko, Jeje Madatu, Anjo Pasion, Rem Pasion JC Pagtakhan, Jericho Reynaldo and Mathew Silvino Vicera. After the tournament, a grand celebration took place where overflowing food and drinks pledged by the participants was put on the table free for all. Visitors from different tennis clubs and the staff of and members of Camp Aguinaldo Tennis Club also enjoyed the dinner buffet. Kier Legaspi, a celebrity tennis player and Gelo Baybay, a father of Milo Tennis was also there to support the event. Dunlop Philippines headed by former Davis Cup player and General Manager Roland So helped and gave inspiration in making this tennis clinic a success.
