Hi all!  Just spent my 2 day weekend at Rizal Memorial as my daughter is a participant in one of the age group events.  The usual delays in the games schedule were present same as the ubiquitous tennis parents like yours truly.  Some of the changes I have noted unlike most of the previous Philta sponsored tournaments were the absence of ball boys during the games, the absence of corporate sponsors, and the recycling of balls on some of the matches.   Moreover, if you will take a look at the schedule of Philta events, after the Andrada Cup, no tournament will be held in Manila until April 2007!

I was just thinking, that since no ballboys were provided by the organizers, then the time allocated per match should have been changed as well because it is a no brainer that if there are no ball boys and the players would be tasked to pick up the balls, then the matches would last longer than usual.

Anyhow, I do not want to rant endlessly.  Yet, I do believe that the above are just some syptoms of the real problems that beset Philippine Tennis.  This underscores the importance of organizing together to help revitalize Philippine Tennis.

The following are needed and will definitely be able to help this cause:

1)  Individuals/groups with fund raising skills
2)  Individuals/groups with marketing skills (to solicit for corporate sponsors, media coverage, etc.)
3)  Individuals/groups with Technical Skills (web development, writing skills, PR, etc.)
4)  All others who are willing to extend any type of assistance i.e. prayers, material or immaterial, etc.

I was told that Kyle Dandan was interviewed at GMA 7.  A step in the right direction!   I think providing media exposure to personalities such as him will be very helpful in promoting Philippine Tennis.

What say you PTO?

This situation is turning from bad to worse. Where's the sense of outrage here guys? Quinito Henson should ought to expose this instead of painting a rosy picture of Philippine tennis. Anybody could write a letter or petition through this  website or representing this website. Anybody?

LVL, you witness and observes the incompetent and lack of knowlegde inside the philta. I know it because I was there during my prime. How we upgrade this basic problem in tennis? Change them and put the knowledgeable and respectable persons in。
