Hi All,

Francis and I are organizing the PTO Year End Singles Championship Tournament 2008.  All PTO members are encouraged to participate.  Here are the mechanics to qualify:

1.  Top 8 in the Singles Ladder will compete in the tournament (if anyone from Top 8 is not available then the next in rank will replace).
2.  No registration/tournament fee.
3.  Location of tournament (either NOLTA or Cityhol) and Format (Round-robin or Knock-out) is to be determined (depends on the budget).
4.  Cutoff is on Dec 1 (4 weekends left).
5.  Maximum matches to qualify is 10 matches.  If you exceed the limit then you are disqualified.
6.  Minimum matches to qualify is 5 matches.
7.  Champion and runner-up will be awarded with trophies at the Christmas party.
8.  Please note that the tournament will be played in one day so you need to be in a good physical shape in order to join (scoring is from 1-8)

If you have any questions, please send me and Francis a message.

Let the race to NOLTA or Cityhol begin hehe!  Grin

Sayang wala ako sa top 8. I cannot challenge yung iba dahil ayaw din lumaban since hindi daw same category. Maybe next time we can separate classes para hindi masyado madami mga inbetween.

Sayang naman... na-try mo ba ichallenge lahat ng 3 up and down sayo?  Cguro nga next time mag-class tayo pero bka pde rin magwork ung isang ladder... eventually it would fix itself (ata)... example Top 1-10 parang class A players, then Top 11-20 parang Class B players...

Bka pde magchallenge ka kahit hindi 3 up and down sayo?  Francis, whatchathink?

Same here. Even if I wan't to keep on challenging players, the proximity of my location limits my chances of playing. It'd be nice to test my skill against these Top 8 though.

this is to encourage everyone to play ladder matches. para sa akin okay na ang simple guidelines.
as of this time, kung base natin sa guidelines, wala pa sa walo ang qualified. not every one sa top 8 kasi have played at least 5 matches.
I hope more will play in the coming days to qualify sa year end tourney na ito.

xerxes - there are a lot of players to challenge sa ladder. in your case, I believe you can challenge players up to rank 17 to begin with. That's over 20 players to chose from. you may ask: "bakit ang dami given that you can only challenge those who are 3 ranks higher than you?" this is because marami pare-pareho ang ranking tapos madami ang registered players na wala pang recorded match. you can challenge anyone na wala pang recorded match including yung bottom 3 ranked players (in terms of ranking).

Same here. Even if I wan't to keep on challenging players, the proximity of my location limits my chances of playing. It'd be nice to test my skill against these Top 8 though.
well, medyo nahirap nga ito. lalo na kung mga daisy sa south ang gusto mo i-challenge.  Smiley

kelan ka ba uli dadalaw dito sa manila? kung may schedule ka this november, may be you can visit 56ers. tapos pila balde sila sa iyo doon.  Smiley

or may be you can start a ladder up north!

If I start a ladder up north di hiwalay din. Wouldn't it be better to have a single ladder for the whole Philippines? Pasalihin ko nalang sila lahat sa ladder pero dapat yung mga same class lang para pwede talagang i-challenge at hindi aayaw.

Hi Everyone,

The original schedule was December 6. And it appears that it is in conflict with the year end championship schedule of 56ers. At this point, we have about 5 qualified players based on the guidelines stated by Ace and most of those qualified are coming from 56ers. With this. Ace and I have agreed to move the tournament schedule on January 3, the first Saturday of 2009. We are also moving the cut-off date until December 27. Please don't forget to submit your scores on the 27th in time for the Christmas party as we are also planning to announce the contenders on December 28. (Ms. Kooldhi - isisingit na lang natin ito sa program ninyo. Ace shall announce.)

There you go, interested players have more time to prepare and challenge players to qualify for the tourney.

Ace - let me know if there is anything missed.

Regards,
Francis

thanks for offering 56ers tennis court.  the planned venue is the covered court at paranaque (near paranaque city hall) para daw rain or shine. pag nagkaproblema sa venue, then we have plan B, 56ers.

Yup promo extended until Dec 27.  Tournament Date is now on Jan 3, 2009.  Sana marami pang sumali sa ladder.  Francis, I won't be able to attend the Christmas party (but I will be there in spirit hehe)... paki-announce na lang on my behalf ung mga players.

Thanks to 56ers for offering their court.  I concur with Francis, gawin naten syang plan B in case hindi pde ung CityHall  Grin  Hindi na naten pde i-move ung date kaya ok sa Cityhall kahit umulan.

I apologize kung walang doubles... ung main reason is dahil sa budget tska ung court time.  As much as possible maganda matapos ung tournament in one day kasi ung iba malayo pa pinang-galingan.  Pero don't worry... nsa pangarap ko yan... one day magkaroon tayo ng Grand Slam tournament na lahat ng klaseng tournament andon  Grin
